After a 36 hour trip from Detroit, Tudi Harwood and a friend hiked Mount Eliza to Kings Park and Botanic Gardens for a view of Perth. Overlooking the Swan River, and happily melting in the hot sun, they walked the long Honour Avenue, lined with towering lemon-scented gum trees. No sleeping Koalas, but Exotic birds everywhere. Reveling in the heat of summer, after leaving Detroit's winter behind, they stepped into OZ.
